Cerddwyr Cylch Teifi Walkers

14th Novemver 2015 – Preseli Area

Leader: Dafydd Davies

Starting from: Dan y Garn (SN127 307), about 1km to the West of the Waldo Memorial on the road between Mynachlog-ddu and Rosebush. Please come in good time to start the walk at 10.30.

Map: http://tinyurl.com/dan-y-garn

Parking: on the grass at the side of the road, but for those who’d prefer a more precise parking place, there’ll be transport available from the car park at the Waldo memorial to the starting point at 10.15

The Walk: A circular walk a little over 2 hours, about 3 miles. We’ll climb slowly up to the flat ground between Carn Siân and Foel Feddau, then up to Carn Bica and back across the heathland past Carn Siân and down quite a steep slope to the starting place. An energetic mountain walk, which is wet and marshy underfoot in places. Climb: 500foot, no stiles. Strong waterproof walking boots and suitable clothing for wet and cold weather are needed.

Points of interest: History of the area, its connection with Waldo and another poet, W.R.Evans; wonderful views from the top of the mountain in fair weather.

Afterwards: It’ll be possible to get refreshments of your choice at the Tafarn Sinc in Rosebush after the walk.
