Cerddwyr Cylch Teifi
13eg o Chwefror 2016
Ardal Poppit
Arweinydd: Terwyn Tomos

Man Cychwyn: Maes Parcio, Poppit (SN152 485). Dewch mewn da bryd i ddechrau ar y daith am 10:30, os gwelwch yn dda. Gallwn barcio yno am ddim fel arfer yn y gaeaf.

Y Daith: Taith gylch ddwy awr sydd ychydig yn llai na thair milltir a’r rhan fwyaf ohoni ar heolydd bychain tawel.  O’r maes parcio awn ni i’r traeth cyn droi at y lôn i’r Hostel Ieuenctid, wedyn dros y grib i gyfeiriad Cipyn ac yn ôl i lawr yr heol i’r maes parcio. Mae angen cryn dipyn o ddringo yn yr hanner cyntaf (esgyniad: 500 troedfedd).

Pwyntiau o ddiddordeb:  Hynodion Traeth Poppit; hanes sefydlu’r Hostel Ieuenctid; hanes y ddau gapel a chymuned Cipyn; cysylltiad y Prifardd Eirwyn George â Chipyn; Cors Poppit.

Wedyn: Bydd cyfle i gael lluniaeth yng Nghaffi Poppit, yn Nhafarn y Webley neu yn Lland’och.

Croeso cynnes i bawb. Cofiwch fod dysgwyr yn dod i gerdded gyda’r grŵp er mwyn cael cyfle i sgwrsio â Chymry lleol. Da chi, agorwch sgwrs â nhw pan allwch.

Cerddwyr Cylch Teifi Walkers
13th February 2016
Poppit area
Leader: Terwyn TomosStarting point: Poppit Car Park (SN152 485). Please come in good time to start the walk at 10.30. We can generally park there free in winter.
The Walk: A circular walk of 2 hours which is a little under 3 miles and mostly on small quiet lanes. From the car park, we’ll go to the beach before turning towards the lane to the Youth Hostel, and then over the ridge towards Cipyn and back down the lane to the car park. Quite a bit of climbing is required in the first half (ascent 500 feet)
Points of interest: notable things about Poppit beach; the story of establishing the Youth Hostel; the history of the two chapels and Cipyn community; the connection between the Eisteddfod winning poet Eirwyn George and Cipyn; Poppit marsh.
Afterwards: it will be possible to have refreshments in Poppit Café, the Webley or in St. Dogmaels.

There’ll be a warm welcome to all. Welsh will be the language of the walk, so if you are beginning to learn you may not be able to follow much of what is said but it is an ideal opportunity to use all the Welsh you have learned and you can ask others to give you the gist – but please try to avoid using ‘English-only’ in any conversation.
