Y Tafarn Sinc

Y Tafarn Sinc – helpu prynu tafarn Cymraeg

Mae’r gymuned yn ceisio codi arian trwy werthu cyfranddaliadau, er mwyn cadw’r Tafarn Sinc yn Rosebush fel y mae – tafarn Cymraeg gwych. Ond mae angen gwneud cyn diwedd mis Medi – yfory! Hoffech chi helpu a bod yn un o ‘berchnogion’ y tafarn?

Llythyr am y prosiect oddi wrth Margaret Phillips – diolch Margaret!

Y Tafarn Sinc yn Rosebush, yn y Preselau, yw un o’r llefydd prin ble mae pobl yn gallu mynd i mewn a siarad Cymraeg. Mae’r lle’n llwyddiannus ar y foment ond bydd y perchnogion yn gadael ddiwedd mis Hydref.

Mae Cymdeithas Tafarn Sinc wedi bod yn ceisio codi digon o arian i brynu’r lle ers diwedd mis Mehefin, i’w gadw fe fel y mae ar hyn o bryd, a chadw’r awyrgylch.  Bydd rhaid cael y rhan fwya o arian cyn diwedd mis Medi.

Maen nhw wedi cael mwy na hanner ond maen nhw’n dal i chwilio am bobl sy’n fodlon prynu  cyfranddaliadau [“shares”] @ £200 yr un [llog 2%] neu wneud benthyciad o £5000 am dair blynedd [llog 4%].

Yn y ddau ddewis, bydd y log yn well na beth mae banciau yn ei gynnig.

Hoffai rhywun sy’n dysgu Cymraeg brynu cyfranddaliad, neu hoffai grŵp o ddysgwyr greu ‘syndicate’ i brynu cyfranddaliad(au)?

Y Tafarn Sinc – help buy a Welsh pub

The community is trying to raise money through the sale of shares, to keep the Tafarn Sinc in Rosebush as it is – a great Welsh language pub. But it needs to be done before the end of September – tomorrow! Would you like to help and be one of the pub’s ‘owners’?

A letter about the project from Margaret Phillips – thanks Margaret!

Y Tafarn Sinc in Rosebush, in the Preselis, is one of the rare places where people can go in and speak Welsh. The place is successful at the moment but the owners will leave at the end of October.

The Tafarn Sinc Association has been trying to raise enough money to buy the place since the end of June, to keep it as it is at present, and keep the atmosphere. The bulk of the money will be needed before the end of September.

They have got more than half but are still looking for people willing to buy shares @ £200 each [interest 2%] or make a loan of £5000 for three years [interest 4 %].

In both options, the interest will be better than what banks offer.

Would anyone learning Welsh like to buy a share, or would a group of learners be interested in creating a ‘syndicate’ to buy a share(s)?

Darlith – “Waldo a D.J.Williams”

[Scroll down or click here for English]

Cyn cynnal Darlith Flynyddol Cymdeithas Waldo yn Abergwaun eleni bydd arddangosfa yn tynnu sylw at gysylltiadau’r bardd â’r ardal yn cael ei chynnal yng Nghanolfan Gelfyddydau Gorllewin Cymru gydol misoedd Awst a Medi.

Bydd yr arddangosfa aml-gyfrwng a drefnir gan Gymdeithas Waldo ar wahoddiad Myles Pepper yn cynnwys gwaith gan artistiaid megis Meirion Jones, Elizabeth Haines, Linda Norris, Wyn Melville Jones a Tim Fudge yn ogystal â cherddi wedi’u llythrennu, a ffotograffau prin o Waldo.

Rhoddir y lle blaenaf i’r penddelw o’r bardd gan y cerflunydd nodedig John Meirion Morris. Bydd llyfrau sydd wedi’u cyhoeddi am y bardd a’r heddychwr i’w gweld ac ar gael i’w prynu o siop lyfrau  Seaways drws nesaf.

Agorir yr arddangosfa’n swyddogol gan Mererid Hopwood pnawn Sul, Gorffennaf 30, oddeutu 4.30. Mae’r oriel yn rhan o Fwyty Bistro Peppers yn Stryd y Wesh.

Cynhelir y ddarlith flynyddol ei hun yng Nghapel Hermon ar nos Wener, Medi 29 pan fydd Robert Rhys yn son am y berthynas – tymhestlog ar adegau – rhwng Waldo a’i gyd-genedlaetholwr, D. J. Williams, a dreuliodd y rhan helaethaf o’i oes yn Abergwaun.
Bydd rhai o’r llythyrau a ddanfonwyd gan Waldo at ei gyfaill, sydd yn y Llyfrgell Genedlaethol, hefyd i’w gweld yn arddangosfa ‘Un Funud Fwyn’.

Prior to holding this year’s annual Waldo Williams lecture at Fishguard an exhibition highlighting the poet’s association with the area will be held at the West Wales Arts Centre all through August and September.

Hosted by Myles Pepper and organised by Cymdeithas Waldo the multi-media exhibition will feature works of art by such artists as Meirion Jones, Elizabeth Haines, Linda Norris, Wyn Melville Jones and Tim Fudge as well as calligraphed poems and rarely seen photographs of Waldo.

Pride of place will be given to the commissioned bust of the poet made by renowned sculptor John Meirion Morris. Books written about the poet and pacifist will be on display and can be purchased from Seaways bookshop next door.

The exhibition will be officially opened by Mererid Hopwood on Sunday, July 30 at around 4.30. The gallery is situated in West Street as part of the Peppers Bistro.

The annual lecture itself will be held at Hermon Chapel on Friday, September 29 when Robert Rhys will speak about the relationship – which was sometimes turbulent – between Waldo and fellow nationalist, D. J. Williams, who lived for most of his life in Fishguard.

A few of the letters sent by Waldo to his friend, which are kept at the National Library, will also be on display at the ‘Un Funud Fwyn’ exhibition.
